Justin Tacinelli went the distance for the Greeners in the first game of Bristol’s doubleheader on Wednesday night, allowing just two hits and striking out six. Tacinelli gave up a first inning run after Spencer Griffin (1-2, BB) scored on a RBI groundout off the bat of Prospect’s Adam O’Leary. Tacinelli went on to throw six scoreless innings, needing just a total of 84 pitches to pick up his first victory of the season. John Artes and Adam O’Leary pitched well for Prospect and the Greeners were blanked until the 6th inning when Dan Rosa (1-1, 2 BB) and John Pastrynak (1-3) scored on Bret Clark’s two-run double. Bristol’s Dave Casanova continued where he left off last season, collecting 3 hits in his first game back for the Greeners.

 The Burlington Hunters struck for five runs in the sixth inning to take the lead away from the Greeners and held on to pick up their second victory of the season. The Greeners threatened in the bottom of the seventh inning loading the bases with just one out, but Burlington’s Ty Morin went on to record a strike out and a fly out to seal the victory. Burlington’s offense was led by Matt DuBlain who picked up a key two-run single with two outs in the sixth to put Burlington ahead. Ray Ricker (2-3), Colin Tack (2-3, RBI), and Dillon Desidirato (1-2, RBI) led the offense for Burlington. The Greeners offense was led by Dave Casanova (2-4), Matt Godbout (1-4, RBI), Brendan Hayes (2-2, RBI) and John Pastrynak (1-3, 3B 2 RBI).
