Watertown finishes 19-0

The Watertown Blaze went undefeated (19-0) through the regular season and will be the top seed in the Stan Musial State Tournament that begins Monday July 24 and the Tri-State League playoffs. The Naugatuck Dogs, Blasius Chevrolet, and Terryville Black Sox will also participate in the state tournament. Each team is allotted 3 draft picks from the rest of the league teams that are registered with the AABC. The top 2 finishers in the state tourney advance to the AABC Northeast World Series that begins play on Thursday August 3rd.
The Dogs (#2 seed) along with Bethlehem Plowboys and Tri-Town Trojans have secured a first-round bye in the league playoffs. Tri-Town plays Tribury on Monday and will be the 3 seed if they win and the 4 seed if they lose. Tribury plays 2 games this week (Monday and Tuesday) and Litchfield plays Wednesday to finish out the makeups and the seeds will then be assigned for the playoffs. Top 12 teams make the playoffs which begins on Saturday July 29th.
Please note: if a state tourney team (Blasius or Terryville) make it to Friday in the state tourney then I will offer them the opportunity to begin league playoffs on Sunday instead of Saturday. Will stay in touch with the teams affected.
