Winsted Whalers 9 Southington 66ers 4

The 66ers and the Whale were able to squeeze their game in Tuesday night between the lightning strikes.  The Whale came out on top, winning 9-4.
Winsted’s Austin Brochu collected the complete game W despite giving up 14 hits (he also struck out 5 while not giving up a walk.) Every player in the 66ers starting lineup had at least one hit, led by; Nick Y (2-4, 2B, R), Dan Neal (2-3, 2B, 2R) and Christian Peleton (3-3).
The Whale offense responded in kind with 13 hits of its own and knocking out young fireballer Mike Fernantes after only three innings.  The Whalers were led at the plate by Rick Langer (2-2, 2B, 2R, SB, blownouthammy), Johnny Lippincott (3-4, 2B, 3B, 2R, 4RBI) and Owen McMahonn (2-4, 2B, R, 2SB.) Other highlights include: Stellar work behind the dish by  the 66ers Adriano Moore and Winsted’s Chester Warner continues to work on his Whale Song, but the results are less than encouraging.
Happy Fourth of July. Winsted stands at 6-5. Southington stands at 4-8.

Terryville Black Sox / Valley Thunder Ducks rained out after 3 innings

I would be remiss if I did not mention that Justin Mcculloch hit a moon shot home run that still has not come down… the Valley pitcher was quoted as saying “I hung a slider”… Per league rules (which we play American League rules) – less than 5 innings the game is replayed in full. We will take a league vote to see if McCulloch home run stat should count.

Terryville Black Sox 8 CTL Knights 4   (Monday night)

Terryville improves to 9-0.

With the Black Sox beaten up by injuries, veteran skipper Dave Alarcon picked up the win throwing 4 innings, scattering 5 hits, 2 runs while striking out 1.  Gavin Lavallee led that offense pounding 3 hits including 2 home runs and double that just missed going out for this 3rd of the day.  Connor McEvoy added 2 hits for the Black Sox.  The Sox ended up winning the game 8-4.

Twisters/ CTL Aftershock rained out Wednesday night
