Bristol 2, Brass City 0: Bristol’s Geoff Pierce came within one out of a no-hitter on Wednesday night against the Brass City Brew before giving up a lone base hit to Brass City’s Paul Novakowski. Pierce (CG, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 K) went on to retire the next batter on a groundout to seal a 2-0 Bristol victory and his third win of the season. Bristol struck for their only two runs in the fifth inning after TJ Wyrebrek reached on an error, Pierce doubled down the right field line, and Brian Wyrebek drove both runners home on a clutch basehit up the middle. Tyler Bush (2-2, BB) continues to swing a hot bat for Bristol and is now hitting close to .400 on the season. Gary Novakowski picked up the loss for the Brew, allowing two runs, walking one and striking out three over seven innings of work.
Tri Town 2, Amenia 1: Andrew Osolin picked up the win in relief as Connor Murray threw the first six innigs. Tri Town scored the go ahead run on a sac fly in the top of the 7th.
Waterbury 9, Thomaston 4: Waterbury was led by Ken Kerski he went the first five innings allowing four hits and no runs with seven strikeouts, offensively Brad DeVito had two hits and three RBI and Jack Debiase had two hits and two RBI. Kevin Mclellhan had a hit and run scored and Tim Collins had a hit for Thomaston.
Wolcott 3, Prospect 0: Zach Sehnal threw a complete game two hit shutout to lead Wolcott. Justin Koutros had a sac fly in the 5th, Ryan and Eric Soucy had back to back RBI singles in the 6th. Spencer Griffin had one of the two hits for Prospect.
