Bethlehem Plowboys 2 Wolcott Scrappers 1
Recap: Tyler Erickson pitched a complete game 2 hitter striking out 13 batters. Izzy Lugo hit a first inning home run for Wolcott. Mike Chiovetti hit a first inning home run to tie it for Bethlehem and Mike Mancini hit his first home run of the season to put the plow on top in the 6th inning.

Watertown Blaze 7 Amenia Monarchs 6
Recap: Amenia jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the 2nd inning. Charlie Benson came on to pitch 8 innings of scoreless relief as Watertown inched their way back and eventually won the game 7-6.

Saturday August 12:
Terryville Black Sox 5 Litchfield Cowboys 1
Recap: Zach Dandrea, former home run derby champion, came up in the bottom of the fifth inning and hit a solo home run over the monster and trees at Old Terryville HS to give Terryville a 1-0 lead, but Litchfield answered in the bottom of the fifth inning with back to back doubles by Mike Odenwaelder and Steve Harrison. Cy Young winner Billy Armstrong stepped up and didn’t allow a run after that leading the Sox to 5-1 win with help from Kyle Skidmore 3-4 double and RBI.
Tri-Town Trojans 3 Naugatuck Dogs 1
Recap: Trojans beat the Naugatuck dogs and a pitch duel Saturday. Jordie Scheiner took the pearl for the Trojans, pitching 8 2/3 innings giving up 1 run and striking out 6. Trojans were led by Sam Shurberg, Bobby Smith, and Joe Bunnell at the plate. It was a big win for the Trojans who now play for a chance at advancing to the championship if they win tomorrow against the Bethlehem Plowboys! Thank you to the Trojans faithful for coming out an supporting us!
Wolcott Scrappers 5 Amenia Monarchs 4
Recap: TJ Williams threw a complete game striking out seven to lead Wolcott over Amenia (NY) Saturday in the Tri State playoffs. Clete Lorusso had two hits including a three run homerun. Mike Perugini (2-3, BB, RBI, R) scored the winning run on a balk in the top of the 8th. Williams escaped a bases loaded no out jam in the bottom of the 8th to preserve the lead and eventual win. Wolcott advances to Sunday where they’ll face the defending champion Watertown Blaze at 11am at Deland Field.
Bethlehem Plowboys 3 Watertown Blaze 2
Plowboys win a very close game vs the undefeated Watertown blaze 3-2. Pat O’Neill pitched a complete game allowing 1 earned run and striking out 4. Matt Mancini had 2 hits, Mike Chiovetti had a double and Tony Geraci had 2 hits and a RBI. Zach Albin also pitched a complete game allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 6.. Tony Patane had a RBI triple.
Sunday August 13:
Tri-Town Trojans defeated the Bethlehem Plowboys
Recap: Tri-town Trojans were able to advance to the Tri-state Championship Series for the 6th time in 8 years beating the Bethlehem Plowboys 8-5 on Sunday. The Trojans were given a stellar performance on the mound by veteran Bobby Chatfield. Chatfield finished with 11 k’s, giving up 5 runs in a 9 inning battle. Trojans were led by Steve Price at the plate, who finished the game 3-4 with 4 rbis. Casey McDonald, James Cramphin, The Troy twins, and Joe Bunnell all contributed in big situations at the plate. This gives the Trojans a record of 17-5 going into the championship series. Bethlehem scattered 11 hits on the day which included a Home Run by Joe Fainer in the 4th inning. Jesse Darcy battled on the mound in a gutsy performance going all 9 innings for the Plowboys.
Watertown Blaze 11 Wolcott Scrappers 1
The Blaze bats came alive after struggling to score the past 2 weeks to remain alive in the Tri-State playoffs with an 11-1 win over the Wolcott Scrappers. Chris Ayer led off the first inning with a single and stole second, Conor Mcevoy walked and stole second and Tony Patane singled to score 2, to jump out to an early lead. The Blaze didn’t look back as Patane, McEvoy, Kyle Tehan and Alex Miller all had 2 hits. Alex Johnson picked up his 6th win of the season going the distance, allowing 6 hits and striking out 8 over 5 innings.
Naugatuck Dogs 4 Terryville Black Sox 3
Trailing 3-2 heading into the bottom if the ninth, the Dogs tied the score and brought the winning run in on an error to end the game and take home the 4-3 victory.

Lance Stevens pitched a complete game for Naugy who advance to face Plowboys on Thursday.
Semi-Finals: – Thursday August 17
Naugatuck Dogs 6 Bethlehem Plowboys 2
Kevin Murray hurled a 1-hitter through 6 innings and gave way to Mackey Cianciolo to close out the ninth inning as the Dogs advance to the Tri-State World Series to face the Tri-Town Trojans. Three home runs by Naugy was all the offense needed to back Murray on the mound.
