Brass City Brew  8    Bethlehem Plowboys  4
The Brass City Brew rallied for an 8-4 win over the Bethlehem Plowboys Thursday evening at Gallup Field. Brass City (2-2) newcomer Joe Guerrera smacked a single to center to tie the game at 4. Steve Carosella gave the Brew a 5-4 lead with a solo homer in the top of the seventh. Brass City tacked on three more runs on an RBI single by Mike Padovani and a two-run double from Eric Gormley. Tim McCarthy threw three innings of scoreless relief for the win. Bethlehem was led by Nick Chiovitti, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Dave Green added a two-run double for the Plowboys, who drop to 4-2.
Winsted Whalers 4   Terryville Black Sox 1
Donny Crossman fired a complete game five-hitter for Winsted in a win over Terryville at Walker Field in Winsted. Crossman struck out 10 while walking just one. The Whalers (2-4) struck for all four of their runs in the bottom of the first. Ricky Langer had a double and single for Winsted. Mike Morrison had two hits for Terryville (1-4). Joe Deming took the loss for the Black Sox.
Wolcott Scrappers  3   Torrington Rebels  2 
Undefeated Wolcott scored all three of its runs in the first inning in a win over much-improved Torrington at Bucks Hill Park in Waterbury. The game, originally scheduled to be played at the BAW Complex in Wolcott at 7:45 (which was double-booked), was moved to Bucks Hill and didn’t start until 8:40, Scrappers coach Ryan Soucy said. Wolcott (6-0) picked up RBI singles from Ryan Andrade and Justin Koutros in the first. Adam LaCapra and Mike Vaccarelli each had two hits. Zach Sehnal threw a complete game, striking out 10. The Rebels (3-3) got a single and run batted in from Nick Ross. Ian Pierce threw five scoreless innings in relief of injured starter Brandon Cordani, who left after one out in the first. All three runs were charged to Cordani.
Litchfield Cowboys 6    Naugatuck Dogs 2
Chris Blazek ripped a go-ahead two-run double off the right field wall in the sixth inning, then came in, pitched the final two innings, and slammed the door for Litchfield in a win over Naugatuck in Naugatuck. Chris Beach had three hits while Dillon Styles went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Kyle Weaver added a double for the Cowboys (5-0). Kevin Graveline went 3-for-3 with a home run while Devin Murphy was 2-for-3 with a double for the Dogs (4-2).
Waterbury Wild  8   Amenia Monarchs 1
Ken Kerski threw five innings and allowed no runs on two hits for Waterbury in a win over Amenia in Waterbury. John DiGiovanni had a hit and two RBI while Kyle Kerski added a double and a single. Adam Hyman scored the lone run for Amenia. Caleb Huff had a hit for the Monarchs in the loss.
Thomaston Threshers  2   Watertown Blaze  2  (8 innings)
Watertown’s Justin Froese and Thomaston’s David Fredlund hooked up in a pitchers dual at Thomaston High School that was called due to darkness after 8 innings locked up in a 2-2 tie. Game will be completed at a future date.
