The Whale turned on the offense early on Thursday night (6/10), pounding out 8 hits and scoring 9 runs in the first two innings against Blasius starter David Vadnois.  Lead at the plate by catcher, Lukas Gryniuk (4-4, RBI) Winsted would be put in check for the remainder of the game, only managing 2 more hits and 1 run off Blasius reliver, Phalen. Blasius was lead at the plate by Trichilo (2b, RBI), Gary Novakowski (2b) and Fraz Kader (2b, R) who hit a ball that scraped the sky and would have easily been a home run at any ballpark in the US, Canada, Japan with a fence.  Luckily for Winsted, Walker field held it and Kader settled for a double. Other highlights include Paul Novakowski dusting off (and disinfecting) his catcher’s gear for Blasius and The Whale sporting a starting lineup with an average age of less than 25 years old.
