In a rained shortened game Terryville stayed undefeated lead by Dave Alarcon 4innings on the mound allowing just 2 hits and Kenny Kerski 2 hitless innings as the Black Sox downed the Twisters 5-0. Kyle Skidmore had a 2-run home run and Jason Vargas and Zac Brown each singled for Tribury. Terryville hosts Winsted on Tuesday. Tribury travels to Amenia on Tuesday.
Bethlehem Plowboys 7 Burlington Hunters 1
Bethlehem scored 5 runs in the first inning and cruised to the 7-1 victory. Rob Geraci picked up the win on the mound.
Thomaston Threshers 13 East Mountain Cougars 5
Shea Robertson had 3 hits (triple) and Andy Romano had a bases loaded clearing triple as Thomaston knocked off East Mountain to even their record at 2-2.
All other Sunday games rained out.
Saturday June 3
Bristol Greeners 10 Southington 66ers 5
The Bristol Greeners picked up the victory Saturday afternoon defeating the Southington 66ers 10-5 at Bristol Central High School. Tom Curtin earned the victory for Bristol, pitching five solid innings while giving up just two runs and striking out five. Bristol scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning which was sparked by Jake Martel’s (3-5, 3 RBI) two-run triple. Bristol tacked on six runs in the bottom of the sixth with five consecutive hits from Reid Roberge (1-3, 2 RBI), Jerry Lapenta (2-4, SB), Noah Fradette (2-4, RBI), Tyler Cyr, (1-3, RBI), and Shawn Mirmina (2-2, 2B, 3 runs). Southington’s offense was led by Steve Roy (1-3, RBI) and TJ Underwood (1-3, RBI). Bristol will play the Litchfield Cowboys at home at 10:00am on Sunday, while Southington will play next on Saturday when they take on the Winsted Whalers at Walker Field at 9:00am.
