Blasius Chevrolet 8 Winsted Whalers 3
Blasius rolled in to Winsted on a 5 game winning streak. After 7 strong innings from David Sacco and two solid innings of relief from birthday boy Austen Green, Blasius rolled out of town with an 8-3 win. The win streak has now stretched to 6 games. Offensively Blasius was lead by Steve Carosella, and Colby Linnell. Both had three hits and two run scored. While Justin McCulloch drove in 3 runs. Blasius looks to continue the streak on Tuesday night as they travel to Gallop Field. As always we would like to thank our sponsors.
Terryville Black Sox 13 Bethlehem Plowboys 6
The Black Sox jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead in the first tow innings on the way to a 13-6 victory. Tony Patane led the offense with 3 hits while Chris Ayer, Chris Comeau and Chris Callahan all chipped in with 2 hits each. Kyle Skidmore added 3 RBI’s. Billy Armstrong went five strong innings allowing 3 hits, zero runs, while striking out 6.
Mike Chiovitti hit a 2 run homerun for Bethlehem.
Naugatuck Dogs 13 East Mountain Cougars 1
Kevin Murray pitched 5 shutout innings allowing 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7 to lead Naugy to a 13-1 victory over East Mountain at Naugy HS. The Dogs offense was lead by Macky Cianciolo who had 4 hits including 2 home runs and 7 RBI’s. Ryan Plourde, Kyle Murphy, and Devin Murphy all added 3 hits each for Naugy. Justin Proteav had 2 hits including a home run for East Mountain.
Amenia Monarchs 9 Tri-Town Trojans 7
A perfect day for a ballgame and the Tri-town Trojans squared off in Amenia against the Monarchs in an excellent game of baseball! The game was tied 3-3 in the 5th until Ken Shufelt hit a 2RBI single putting the Monarchs ahead 5-3. The Trojans would come back and take the lead in the top of the 7th with a 2RBI single by Andrew Prince and an RBI by Sam Shurberg making it 6-5. The Monarchs would then tie it in the bottom half with an RBI single by Tom Downey. Will Perotti pitched excellent in his first outing going 7 innings giving up 8 hits and 3 earned runs to a great hitting club. Matched on the other side was veteran Bob Chatfield of the Trojans going 6 innings, giving up 3 earned runs over 8 hits. Leshawn Thrasher came in relief of Perotti in the 8th showing great confidence after pitching 7 innings on Saturday. Trojans scored 1 off Thrasher on a single and a few miscues giving the Trojans the lead 6-7 going into the bottom of the 9th. A great game was capped off by a great finish as Big Ken Shufelt stepped to the dish in the bottom of the 9th and with 2 on,2 out, and 2 strikes he walked off happy with a 3run hr! Monarchs were led by Ken Shufelt 2-5 5rbi, Tom Downey 4-5 1RBI, Chris Reed 3-4 2 RBI, and Will Perottiā€™s outstanding toughness on the mound!
Litchfield Cowboys 7 Tribury Twisters 1
On a hot Sunday afternoon the Litchfield Cowboys visited the Tribury Twisters at Bucks Hill Park. Justin Binkowski was the Cowboys savior pitching 5 solid innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits and 4 strikeouts. Dustyn Marfyak came in showing overpowering stuff for the last two innings to close it out. Narf and Collin Dickinson both had 2 hits for the cowboys while Collin and Bink had 2 rbis to lead the cowboys scoring efforts. John Delucia and Vin Lombardi led the Tribury offense with 2 hits each while Ben Brown scored the lone run for the Twisters. Cowboys play Tuesday versus the Terryville Black Sox
Bristol Greeners 4 Canton Crushers 1
The Bristol Greeners defeated the Canton Crushers 4-1 behind the strong pitching of Brad Burney and Jerry LaPenta. Burney went 5 innings giving up no earned runs for the win, while LaPenta pitched the last four innings to pick up the save. At the plate, Zach Bartolome had four hits and received the first intentional walk of his career, while Ben Mazzone had two hits and Devin Pitcher had a sacrifice fly. Jake Bryant picked up two hits for the Crushers.
Wolcott Scrappers 8 Burlington Hunters 1
Justin Koutros threw a complete game striking out seven to lead Wolcott. Mike Vaccarelli and Matt Warren each had two hits and two rbi in Wolcotts seven run 3rd inning. Angel Torres added two rbi and Tyler Smith singled and doubled and drove in a run as well. Steve Caruso singled and scored a run for Burlington.
Southington 66ers 13 Torrington Rebels 2
The Southington 66ers defeated the Torrington Rebels 13 to 2 at Fuessenich Park tonight. For the 66ers, Sean Rivera tossed 5 shutout innings and Josh Dobratz 2 shutout innings. Pat Smith (triple, 2 singles, 3 runs, RBI), Tim Jalbert (triple, single, run, 2 RBI), Matt Santovasi (4 hits, 2 runs), Josh Dobratz (double, single, 2 runs, 2 RBI), Joe Daigle (3 hits, 2 RBI), Adam Wilson (2 hits, 2 RBI), and Chris Mills (2 hits, 2 runs) led the offense. For the Rebels, Chris Beck, Ben Stone, and Jake Narveson each reached based safely 3 times.
