Sunday July 14th

Bristol 1, Naugy 0: Bristol defeated Naugatuck Sunday afternoon 1-0 behind another dominant pitching performance by Bryan Wyrebek. Wyrebek pitched a complete game shutout for the Greeners, allowing just four hits and striking out eleven. Lance Stevens was nearly just as impressive for Naugatuck, allowing just two hits over a complete game effort. Bristol struck for their lone run in the fourth inning when Bryan Wyrebek reached on an error. Marco Ross moved him to third base on a well-executed hit and run. Wyrebek later scored when TJ Wyrebek grounded into a double play. That would be all Wyrebrek would need to work with as he picked up his third victory of the season and helped Bristol improve to 8-4.
Bristol 4, Prospect 0: Bristol completed the sweep of their doubleheader Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 victory over the Prospect Chargers. Joe Randall picked up his first victory of the season for the Greeners, scattering just four hits and striking out five over four innings of work, as he continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery. Tyler Bush pitched well in relief for Bristol, allowing just one hit in three innings of work. Bristol struck for their first run in the third inning when Shawn Mirmina walked to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a wild pitch.  Dave Casanova (2-2, 3B) then bunted him over to third and Nick Palmisano (2-3, 2 RBI) drove him in on an infield single. Bristol struck for another run in the fourth, and two more in the fifth. Brian Langdon (4.1 IP, 2 ER) pitched well for Prospect. The Chargers had hits from Dan Gugliotti (2-3), Spencer Griffin and Ryan Marrioti.
Terryville 5, Tribury 3: Marshal Szyndlar pitched 5inn of 1er 1hit baseball striking out 11. The black sox trailed 3-2 in the 9th and answered with 3runs to win the game. Mike Morrison had the game tying rbi single to go along with his 2-3 day. Jeff Cappa had Triburys only rbi with a double.
