Southington 66ers 7 Valley Thunder Ducks 3

The 66ers defeated the thunder ducks on Sunday evening 7-3 in wolcott. The game was very close throughout and the decisive blow came from Pat Raymond (2-4 2B) in the 5th with a big home run over the left field fence. Kevin Lawrence led the 66ers on the mound going 7 strong innings only allowing one earned run and fanning 8. The 66ers also had great games from Ben Hampson (3-3 4rbi) , Tyler Fernándes (3-4 2B) , and Matt Hochberg (3-4). Donny Ek had two hits and Shane fusco reached base safely 3 times for valley. Ryan Pelletier pitched well in relief. The 66ers look to continue momentum with a four game slate this week.

Twisters 6 Burlington Hunters 1

The Twisters defeated Burlington 6-1 Sunday night at Fuessenich Park in Torrington. The home squad was led by David “DeGrom” Strager who went 9 strong allowed only 2 bloop hits and struck out 14.  Kyle Matthews continued his lazer show for the Twisters with 3 hits. BRYON ” NO NEED FOR SPELL CHECK” Carr .Jimmy  Lamanna and Travis Wyant all came up clutch at the plate also..The Twisters stole 7 bases and played small ball. They have 5 wins in their charter year. Burlington got a strong 7 innings from their pitcher Ty Morin.

Bethlehem Plowboys 7 Winsted Whalers 6

Plowboys win a hard fought extra inning thriller game against the Whalers from Winsted 7-6, Justin Taylor got the start going 4 innings giving up 5 earned striking out two batters, Sam Williams followed up Taylor throwing 4 innings as well striking out 5 and only allowing 1 hit and earning the Plow W, Matt Mancini and Ian Schmidt led the plow attack reaching base 3 times each and also having 2 hits each while Greg Campbell continued his impressive walk streak recording his 17th walk of the season already and reaching base 3 times, the Plow won on a walkoff walk in the bottom of the 8th after the Winsted reliever started the inning allowing a single then walking the next 3 batters to knock in the winning run for Bethlehem. The Whalers came to play tho, Austin Brochu Johnny Lippincott and Lucas all had good games at the dish as Lipp and Lucas hit 2 moon shot home runs early on in the game to keep it tight.

Canton Crushers 4 Wolcott Scrappers 2

Canton Crushers snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over the Wolcott Scrappers on Sunday.  The game was tied at two with Canton Crushers batting in the top of the eighth when Steve Dubois singled scoring two runs. In the top of the seventh inning, The Crushers tied things up at two on Jeff Mulhal’s RBI single Jake Bryant earned the victory on the mound for Canton Crushers. Bryant went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking one. James Michanczk started the game giving up 4 hits and striking out 6 Jimmy Spirito, James Michanczyk, and Steve Dubois all managed multiple hits for Canton, Spirito went 3-for-3 at the plate. Justen Rodriguez led the  Scrappers with two hits in four at bats.
