Lakeville picks up first win of season

Lakeville picked up its first win of the season behind the pitching of Cody Lemieux and Adam Fuoco. The Outlaws (1-9) also got some good hitting from Josh Morey and Jeff Fabbri, along with timely contributions from A.J. Watts and Chris Lambert on offense and defense. The Chargers fell to 1-8.
Wolcott Scrappers  3  Tri-Town Trojans  0
Wolcott’s Sam Iverson fired a complete game one-hitter with 13 strikeouts in a win over Tri-Town at the BAW Complex in Wolcott. Iverson walked just two. After giving up a third inning single to John Callahan, Iverson retired the next 14 batters in a row. On offense, the Scrappers (6-40 got all three of their runs in the first inning. Mike Vaccarelli led off with a single, then stole second. After a pop out, Adam LaCapra walked. A Ryan Soucy single loaded the bases, then Eric Soucy doubled down the right field line with two outs to make the score 2-0. Jason Miller reached on an error to bring home Ryan Soucy with the third run of the inning. The Trojans (4-5) got a solid effort from Andrew Osolin (7 strikeouts, 2 walks) in the loss.
Burlington Hunters  5  Amenia Monarchs  3
Adam Peters’ two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth gave Burlington the lead in a win over Amenia at Lewis Mills High School in Burlington. Peters’ blast made the score 3-2. The Hunters (5-4) tacked on two more in the seventh inning, including a Pat Flynn run on a double steal for a 5-2 lead. The Monarchs (6-5) closed to within 5-3 in the eighth, but Alex Hansen (8 innings, 3 unearned runs) shut down any further rally. Andrew Bunger pitched a perfect ninth for the save. Dillon Desiderato went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Burlington. Tom Downey and Tom Moore each had a double for Amenia.
Litchfield Cowboys  16  Ansonia Valley Vikings  0  
Litchfield stayed hot with an easy win over Ansonia at Litchfield High School. Mike Odenwaelder went 3-for-6 with a double, triple and five RBI while Adam Claire was also 3-for-6. Claire had two doubles, four runs scored and three RBI. Collin Dickinson went 3-for-5 at the plate while Ed Pequignot added a double. Joey Serafin (5 innings, 10 strikeouts), Eric Hungerford (3 innings, 4 strikeouts) and Carl Rivers (1 inning, 2 strikeouts) gave up just two hits in a combined shutout for the Cowboys, who improved to 9-1. Rob Chieffo and Earl Christensen each had one hit for the Vikings (2-8).
Waterbury Wild  8  Terryville Black Sox  1  
Shane Kingsley had five hits for Waterbury in a win over Terryville at the Old Terryville High School. Fraz Kadar belted a two-run home run while Ken Kerski picked up the win for the Wild, who improved to 5-4. Kerski went the first seven innings and gave up just three hits while recording nine strikeouts. Kevin Larose had two hits for the Black Sox (4-4).

Jason Krajeski complete game shutout with 5 K’s. Brad Boschen sparked the Plowboys offense with a 2 RBI double.
Brass City Brew  14  Watertown Blaze  8   
Andrew Jones hit an RBI double and a two-run home run with four RBI overall. Justin McCulloch had three hits including a double and triple and two runs scored for Brass City (6-4). Gary Miller added three hits and scored three runs. Chris Comeau had four hits and an RBI  for Watertown. Kyle Tehan added two hits and two RBI with two rusn scored while Mike Mastrocola had two doubles and an RBI.
