Bristol Greeners 12 Bethlehem Plowboys 10
The Bristol Greeners beat the Bethlehem Plowboys 12-10 in a slugfest. The Greeners were led by A.J. Lorenzetti’s 6 hits and 7 RBI, Zach Bartolome’s 4 hits, Ben Mazzone’s 3 hits, and 8 strong innings on the mound from Jerry LaPenta. For Bethlehem, Mike Chiovitti and Matt Mancini had 3 hits apiece
Amenia Monarchs 11 Canton Crushers 4
The Amenia Monarchs came away with an 11-4 win over Canton Saturday at Bowdoin field. Heath Cotton started for Canton and pitched 6 strong innings. Leshawn Thrasher of the Monarchs also pitched well. Going into the 6 the crushers led the Monarchs 1-0. In the top of the 6th Tom Downey, who played left field for the first time ever, reached on an error, stole second and scored on a 2 run double by Caleb Huff. The Monarchs went on to score 3 in the 6th, and 4 in the 8th and 9th. Amenia was led by Thrashers strong pitching and Caleb Huff, 2-4 2 runs scored 3rbi, and Dylan Sartori 3-5.
Burlington Hunters 4 Southington 66ers 3
Absolute thriller in Burlington! The Hunters sneak a win against The 66ers in front of a crowd of 12 thanks to Steve Caruso’s walk off double in the bottom of the 9th. With Steve Caruso’s first hit since 1984 and a stellar start from Alex Stackpole, the Hunters were able to grab their second victory of the year. Cody Steinberg contributed to the Hunter’s cause by fouling off 4 pitches. Jay Pelletier continues to impress coaching third base, Alex Hansen picks up the win on the mound. For the 66ers, Josh Doherty led the offense going 2-3 with a run scored. Pat Raymowd started on the mound and threw 6 quality innings.
Naugatuck Dogs 10 Winsted Whalers 0
Ryan Plourde and Adam Neveski each hit a home run, double, and drove in three runs to help Naugy beat WInsted 10-0.
Tyler Boisvert and Lance Stevens combined on a five hit shutout. Devin Warren Singled for Winsted.
