Game recaps:
Watertown opened up the 3 game series versus the Amenia Monarchs with a 3-0 win Tuesday night at Waterville Park. Charlie Benson earned the win on the mound for the Blaze allowing 3 hits and fanning 8 Amenia batters over 7 innings. Stephano Stravoravdis finished off Amenia in the final 2 innings to earn the save. Watertown was led at the plate by Matt Paolo (3-3 triple) and Nick DeLotto with an RBI single. Game two will be played Wednesday night in Amenia. The winner of this series plays the 3 seed Bethlehem in round 2.
Justin Koutros threw a complete game allowing seven hits and striking out seven as Wolcott defeated Thomaston 5-2. Israel lugo had a two run double to lead the offense. Kyle Dean added a triple and scored two runs while Ryan Soucy had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Wolcott leads best of three series 1-0. Winner of this series will play the Litchfield Cowboys.
Miles Scribner pitched a complete game to pick up the win on the mound for the Trojans in a 7-2 victory over Winsted. Offensively, Mike Fabiaschi, Casey McDonald, and Landon Gardella all added doubles, while James Cramphin added a triple. Connor Murray also had two hits.

Game Recaps:
Tom Rinaldi threw 8 innings of one run ball striking out five to get the win in game 2 of the series for the Twisters and Phil Wilhemy came on in the 9th inning with the bases loaded to get the next 3 batters out to secure the win. Zach Brown added two hits and two Rbi’s to lead Tribury. Tom Rinaldi and Dom Mascola each added an RBI single. Phil Wilhemy and Alex Rodriguez added two hits and a run scored a piece. Game 3 will be a rubber match at Hotchkiss field Thursday at 5:15 PM with the series tied 1-1.
Matt Finkenzeller threw seven innings and struck out eleven to lead Wolcott. Kyle Dean had four hits and scored three times. Eric Soucy and Mike Perugini added RBI singles. Israel Lugo had an RBI triple as well. Wolcott wins series 2-0.
The Watertown Blaze came away with a hard fought win 4-3 in 10 innings over the Amenia Monarchs. Nick Delotto led off the 10th with a double, was bunted to third by Chris Ayer and Tony Patane singled in DeLotto for the game winning run to advance to play Bethlehem in round 2 of the Tri-State League playoffs. Matt Paola led the Blaze offense with three hits including two doubles while Matt Calzone also contributed two hits. Tom O’Brien picked up the win on the mound pitching 4 shutout innings in relief. Matt Hosier had two hits including a solo home run for Amenia.
TriTown took a 4-0 lead into the 7th inning before Winsted tied it at 4-4. With two outs in the top of the 9th, Casey McDonald started the rally with a double. A walk to Mike Fabiaschi and infield single by Landon Gardella loaded the bases for Sam Shurberg, who delivered a 2-rbi single to give the Trojans a 6-4 lead. The Trojans then got a game ending double play to seal the victory. Andrew Osolin pitched 6 scoreless innings for the Trojans and James Cramphin picked up the win. Landon Gardella and Bobby Smith both had 3 hits, and Mike Fabiaschi had a double. For Winsted, Johnny Lippincott had three hits, Justin Morehardt added a double and two singles and Charlie Putnam contributed with two hits.
