AABC REGIONALS UPDATE: The Brass City Brew of the Tri-State Baseball League began play Thursday July 30th and split their opening two games. Brew lost a tough fought 8-inning affair 3-2 to Rockland, MA in game one and then rebounded to take the night cap 6-1 against the Wallingford Merchants. The Brew will face Braintree, MA this afternoon at 4pm (Friday July 31).

Recaps:
Jeff Sturm pitched a complete game giving up two earned runs on 7 hits while striking out 3 to lead the Naugy Dogs to a 7-2 victory over All Star Rangers. The Dogs were led by Sean Miller-Jones and Jeff Rustico who each had 2 run HRs. Devin Murphy and George Harlamon each added two hits and an RBI a piece and Ryan Russell had an RBI single. Longsio homered for All Star.
The Trojans were down 2-0, until they scored 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and beat the Wilton Barons 4-2 at Community Field. Mike Fabiaschi (3 hits, 1 rbi), Casey McDonald (2 hits) and Kyle Osolin (2-rbi double) led the Trojans on offense. Miles Scribner pitched 6 innings, allowing 5 hits and James Cramphin came in for the save.
TJ Williams threw five innings allowing two earned and striking out four to lead Wolcott. Paul Novakowski had three hits including a homerun and four RBI. Elvis Martinez doubled twice driving in two. Kyle Dean had three hits and scored three times, while Israel Lugo and Ryan Andrade added two hits each. Wolcott advances to the Stan Musial state tournament semi finals to face TriTown out of litchfield at Fussenich Park at 11am. Winner advances to play Naugatuck at 2pm for the state championship.

In a pitcher’s duel between Miles Scribner and Billy Armstrong, the Trojans scored runs on sacrifice fly-outs by Chris Comeau and Sam Shurberg in the second and third inning. Steve Price and Comeau both had two hits each, and Landon Gardella had a triple.
Miles Scribner pitched 6 2/3 innings as James Cramphin came in to record the final strike out with runners on first and second to end the game. For Terryville, Edwin Pena and Jake Tehan both had two hits.
