Blasius Chevrolet 10   Tribury Cave 1

The big chief Gary Novakowski (2-0) would allow an unearned run, while striking out 6 over 5 strong innings. The Blasius offense would get things going in the top of the third when Manny Cruz would just miss homering to left center field much to the disappointment of a large crowd of U14 baseball played. Cruz would have to settle for a one out double. One out later he would come into score the Cruz would score when Eric Rovinetti’s fly ball to center was miss played. In the bottom of the fourth the Cave would tie the score at 1-1 on an unearned run of their own. This would end Blasisus scoreless inning streak at 29 1/3 innings. However, the Blasius pitchers have not given up an earned run in the last 33 innings as the Cave would not score the rest of the game. The Blasisus bats would break the game open in the 5th and 6th inning scoring 9 more times. Cruz and Mike Vaccarelli would both drive in runs. Also chipping Paul Novakowski would continue his hot hitting with two more hits and two RBI’s in the decisive innings. When the lights of Municipal Stadium went out Blasius would roll out with a 10-1 win. A well-earned win. Blasius (10-2) have a big weekend coming up as they travel to Litchfield to take on the 3rd place Litchfield Cowboys (9-3). This will be a two-game affair between two of Tri-States top teams. As the teams need to finish a game that is tied 3-3 from earlier in the season as well as play the scheduled game. On Sunday Blasius will be back home at the Hotch taking on the Valley Thunder (6-6). As always, we would like to thank our fans and above all our sponsors Blasius Chevrolet. For without your support none of this would be possible.
