Tribury Cave 5   Amenia Monarchs 4

On a beautiful afternoon at Doc Bartlett Field the Tribury Cave took on the Amenia Monarchs and came away with the win 5-4. The Monarchs would score first on a lead off walk to Chris Reed(1-3,1r). Reed would then steal second and score on a rbi single by Tyler Smith(3-3,1rbi,1r). Tribury would come back to tie in the 2nd inning by a walk, a base hit, and then a fielding error by Amenia. Top of the 3rd the Cave would take the lead briefly by a rbi single by Ranso(2-4,rbi,1r) but the Monarchs would tie in the bottom half by a lead off walk and back to back singles by Leshawn Thrasher(1-4) and Tom Downey(2-4, rbi). Difference in the game game in the top of the 5th when the Cave’s Evan Devico and Ranso would have back to back singles followed by a walk to Rinaldi, a single for Macone(1-3), and another fielding miscue for the Monarchs, plating 3 runs for the Cave. Monarchs would score 2 more runs but it wasn’t enough to catch the Cave in the end. For the Cave Goldbergh picked up the win going 5 innings while Tom Downey took the loss for Amenia going the distance. Game was highlighted by Monarchs player Russell Boyles getting beaned in his first Tri-State at bat, and him smiling all the way to first! Special Thanks to the Tribury Cave for a special moment in Amenia!
