Winsted Whalers 8 East Mountain Cougars 3
Winsted scored six runs in the last three innings for a come from behind win. Ricky Langer was perfect on the day with five hits and a HBP. Andrew Billing was 3-4 and scored twice. Robert Weiss pitched five scoreless innings with nine strikeouts. Jeff Negron pitched three innings to pick up the win while striking out six. Justin Proteau had two hits and Tylor Campbell two hits and RBI for East Mountain. Travis Markey pitched six solid innings and left with the game tied at 2.
Litchfield Cowboys 8 Valley Thunder 5
Litchfield Cowboys take the W in their opening day matchup against the Valley Thunder with a score of 8-5. Dan Heddon, the starting pitcher, earned his first win in a cowboy uniform throwing five innings. Karl Quist led the Cowboys offensively with four hits. Brookes Belter, Collin Dickinson, Ed Pequignot and Victor Rodriguez added hits as well.
Torrington Rebels 7 Burlington Hunters 0
The Torrington Rebels opened the season with a 7-0 win against the Burlington Hunters. Chris Greatorex carried the Rebels on the mound with thirteen strikeouts over six innings allowing just one hit while picking up the win. Roberto Santiago (3-4), Austin Patenaude (1-3, 4 RBI’s) and Nick Yousefzadeh (2-3, 2 runs scored) led the way at the plate. Joe Napolitano had a base hit for the Hunters.
Naugatuck Dogs 7 Blasius Chevrolet 1
Lance Stevens pitched 4 2/3 innings of relief allowing one hit while striking out seven to pick up the win as Naugy beat Blasius 7-1 at Hotchkiss Park. The Dogs offense was led by Ryan Plourde who hit a 3 run home run and Brendan Slattery who added a solo home run. Devin Murphy, Sean Miller-Jones, and Kyle Murphy all had RBI singles for the Dogs. Jeff Fonti had a RBI double for Blasius.
Watertown Blaze 2 Wolcott Scrappers 1
DJ Ouellette smashed a pinch hit 2 RBI double in the bottom of the fifth inning for Watertown which proved to be the difference maker in this opening day pitchers duel (2-1). Wolcott struck first in the bottom of the first inning, taking advantage of a walk, error and wild pitch to score the first run of the game. Zach Albin, Kyle Kennedy and Matt Quintana settled in to allow only 2 hits and strike out 10. Jesse Vermeesh and Matt Corcoran allowed three hits while striking out five.
Bethlehem Plowboys 18 Canton Crushers 2
Pat O’Niell pitched six scoreless innings while striking out eight for the win. Mike Milius had a triple and four RBI while Dennis Poulter had two hits, two RBI, and two stolen bases. Pat McGee added two hits and a run scored. Ben Sullivan and Mike Zimmit had a hit an RBI apiece for Canton.

Zach Dandrea tripled and scored. Billy Armstrong six shutout innings allowing 2 hits 9 strikeouts.
