Winsted Whalers 16 Southington 66ers 10
In a game highlighted by Southington’s very own Joe Santovasi who made a fine play in right field and executed a textbook relay throw to the infield. The Whalers won the game by a touchdown 16-10, but missed the extra point, therefore not covering the spread. Winsted was lead by: Rick Langer (2H, 2BB, 2R and 6 RBI), Johnny Ambrozatis (2H, 2BB, 3R), Andrew Billig (H, 3BB, 2R and 2 RBI. Southington was led by:Dubrar (3H, 3R, 2 RBI), Jalbort (3BB, 2R, RBI), Smith (2H, 2 RBI, 1R).
Terryville Black Sox 1 Blasius Chevrolet 0
The Black Sox lead by Kenny Kerski complete game one hitter which was lost with two outs in the 7th. Terryville scored an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth produced by chris Ayer. Paul Mchullah Googins has the lone single for Blasius.
Burlington Hunters 6 East Mountain Cougars 5
Without any help from Joe Napolitano the Hunters beat the Cougars 6-5 behind a strong start from Alex Stackpole, who dazzled for 6 innings with 13 strikeouts, 6 hits, and stole the hearts of all 9 fans in attendance. The Hunters were led offensively by Ty Morin (1-3, 2RBI, 2 Runs) and Ryan Lavelle ( 3 BB, 3 SB, 3 Runs). Matt Dablain was forced out of retirement and actually made contact with the ball. Brian O’Leary and his beard were solid defensively all day and made some crucial plays. The Cougars were led offensively by HJ Petrillo (2-4, 1 RBI, 1 Run) and Tyler Campbell (1-3, 2 RBI)
Naugatuck Dogs 7 Canton Crushers 0
Tyler Boisvert pitched 6 shutout innings allowing 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8 to lead Naugy to a 7-0 victory over Canton. The Dogs offense was led by Jeff Rustico (3-4 2 RBI) and Ryan Plourde (3-4 2 runs). Sean Bahre and Taylor Riley both doubled for Canton.
Wolcott Scrappers 12 Tribury Twisters 4
Justin Koutros threw a complete game striking out seven to lead Wolcott. Matt Warren had three hits and four rbi. TJ Williams (2b), Mike Vaccarelli (2b), Angel Torres (2b), Mike Perugini (3b) and Ryan Soucy (2b) all added extra base hits while Jesus Garcia walked three times, singled and added a sac fly. Vin Lombardi and Jordan Rodriguez had two hits and an rbi apiece.
Bristol Greeners 9 Valley Thunder 4
The Bristol Greeners defeated Valley Thunder 9-4 on Sunday afternoon, aided by a six-run fourth inning. Ben Mazzone got the win, pitching 4 strong innings and going 3-5 with 5 RBI at the plate. Zac Bartolome got two hits and scored twice, while A.J. Lorenzetti homered. For Valley Thunder, Donny Eck had two hits and Tyler Pelletier tripled.
Terryville Black Sox 15 Valley Thunder 0
Christian Callahan, Tony Patane, and Kyle Skidmore all had 3 hits 4RBi and one Home run a piece. Kody Kerski also had 4 hits and and 3RBI. Billy Armstrong threw a complete game 1 hitter 9 strikeouts. Shufell had the lone hit for Valley.
Torrington Rebels 2 Canton Crushers 1
The Torrington Rebels beat the Canton crushers 2-1 Sunday night at Bowdoin field in Canton. The Crushers struck first in the bottom of the 5th inning with back to back doubles from Chris Vandebogart and Andrew Tremley. Crusher’s starter Taylor Riley kept the Rebels bats silent until the top of the 9th inning when Roberto Santiago launched a two-run home run into left center field to put the Rebels ahead. Ian Pierce picked up the win on the mound for the Rebels going all nine innings in an impressive and efficient outing, allowing just the one run in the 5th. The Rebels look to take on the Naugatuck Dogs and Burlington Hunters next as the regular season winds down.
Saturday July 14
Amenia 6-5; Litchfield 6-4
The Amenia Monarchs and Litchfield Cowboys split a double header Saturday July 14 in Litchfield. The first game brought two old veterans to the mound with Amenia throwing Travis Hyatt and the cowboys going with Eddie Pequgnot. The Monarchs would score 3 in the first of a Cowboy error and rbi singles by Ken Shufelt and Chris Reed. Travis Hyatt went 6 innings for Amenia giving up 2 earned runs and scattering 5 with 3ks earning the W. In between the games the Cowboys showed their generosity with some excellent food for the out of state guys! Game 2 would showcase some younger arms as the Cowboys went with Dan Hedden and the Monarchs with upcoming High School senior Dylan Tinker. Just the opposite of the the first game, the Monarchs would slip defensively, and the Cowboys came out with a 5-1 lead thru 4. Cowboys would go on to add one more in the 5th and beat Amenia 5-3 in game 2 of the double header. Excellent day of Tri-State Baseball as two good teams, played great baseball today, and then celebrated accordingly together afterwards!

For the 66ers, Josh Dobratz pitched a complete game four-hitter and had two hits, Chris Mills had a two-run double, and Patrick Raymond had a two-run single. Tim Jalbert, Joe Daigle, Adam Wilson, Joe Rivera, and Matt Santovasi contributed timely hits. For Winsted, Chester Warner had an rbi single and John Lippincott stroked a double.
