State tourney Director
NOTE: HOME TEAM schedules umpires. Each team pays for 1 umpire and splits baseballs at every game. You also coin flip at EVERY game. You pay whatever the fee is for that umpire board. Waterbury (Naugy) and Torrington games are $80.
Gents, state tourney bracket is a fairly standard 8 team double-elimination bracket.
Keep in mind – there are a couple different AABC bracket rules.
1. When we get to the 4th round – there will be 4 teams left, One team will be undefeated and 3 teams will have 1 loss, Per AABC rule – we matchup teams that have not played each other, best we can… but all 4 teams will play at this level.
2. Round 5 will have either 2 or 3 teams left.
A. If 2 teams are left there will be a ONE GAME CHAMPIONSHIP – despite the records as one team will be undefeated. Doesn’t matter – ONE GAME as both teams will head to the AABC World Series in Braintree MA.
B. If 3 teams remain they will each have 1 loss, If 2 of the teams have not played each other they play and the 3rd team gets bye into championship.
If all 3 teams played each other – Tony Santoro has pre-drawn a bye order that we will follow:
Terryville – Housy – Fedells – Blasius – Wallingford – Naugatuck – Milford – Danbury
AABC NorthEast World Series (Braintree, MA)
DATES: Thursday August 9 – Sunday August 12
