Cuban Junior National Team 5, Tri-State All-Stars 4

In 1994, The Cuban Junior National Team traveled to the United States and made a stop during their World Tour at Fuessenich Park in Torrington to play the Tri-State All-Stars.

Scott Arigoni and Chris Caron carried the workload on the mound while Chris Clark provided the offense with 2 Home Runs as Tri-State came up just short of beating the foriegn powerhouse, losing 5-4.  In July of 1987, the Twi-Met all-stars handed the Tri-State all-stars a 10-0 loss highlighted by a two run double off the bat of future major leaguer Rico Brogna to cap a 7-run 2nd innning.  Former major leaguer Darren Bragg also played for Twi-Met.  Tri-State is in current negotiations to schedule a friendship game versus the Russion National team in July 2007 and an all-star game versus the Wallingford Twi-Light league in September.  The Tribury Turkey Vultures have been ranked #9 in the state, in pre-season rankings, according to the CT Adult Baseball Association (eteamz.com/CAB).  Tribury has been invited to participate in the first annual CT Classic Showdown (2007).  The new invitational tourney will be considered a “champions tournament” and the first to pit all the ‘Individual’, ‘AABC’, and ‘NABF’ affiliated leagues in the state against one another.  A date and destination has yet to be determined.
